It’s time to continue discovering this magnificent city..
The next morning we woke up fresh and were ready for more exploring. We were thrilled and happy that we are there together. I think that actually that was the moment we became aware of it.
We decided to spend that day roaming around the city and spontaneously choose where to go. That was such fun thing to do.
The first thing we visited that day was → Flatiron Building. When built in 1902, the Flatiron Building was called the Fuller Building, named after the architect George A. Fuller. Locals nicknamed it The Flatiron and the name stuck. Nowadays it is an office building of several publishing companies.
It is one of the most photographed buildings in the New York. It is very popular tourist spot and it truly is an icon of New York City.
From whichever side you look you can not do anything but admire the architecture of it. Looks so unreal.
In front of the Flatiron was an interesting street food corner.
Afterwards, we were headed to High Line, and on our way there we stopped by to visit → Chelsea Market.
It is a place with mixture of restaurants, stores and local shops. It was very crowded inside. There you can find variety of delicious food, to suit everyone’s taste
What I liked the most there was this illuminated passage. It made me feel like I am in a fairy tale. It was an interesting place to visit.
From there, our next stop was → High Line, an old railway line. It was fascinating to see it’s makeover to elevated park. It’s pedestrian zone is super cool, with all the scenery around you.
After a long but pleasant walk, we went to the another sidewalk. This time the one beside Hudson River.
We enjoyed the stunning view.
Even though we were already tired after all day walking, we headed to Times Square, where was a meeting point with Vanja, our friend from the University.
I was so happy to see her, as we spent 2 months together working on the island Kos in Greece while studying. She is such a positive person with a great energy, and I couldn’t wait to meet her again, after a few years.
She suggested going to the View bar at Marriott hotel. We agreed and couldn’t wait to go there and finally catch up.
And what about the view from The View? How incredible it is. This place is revolving rooftop restaurant and lounge. Being on Times Square with my girlfriends with this amazing view, there is nothing more you could ask for, right? And THAT’S what I call a reunion. 😉
Thank you Vanja for having us and showing us this wonderful place. Love you! 💜
Stay tuned for more information about NYC..
